A wide, chamfered slab serif lettering design found in the 1907 book "Lettering, Drawing" from the International Correspondence Schools inspired Cattle Auction JNL, which is available in both regular and oblique versions.  

Originally called "Railroad Block", the hand lettering is reminiscent of wood type used on old Wild West posters.
