An image of a vintage Burnham Motor Oil brass marking stencil showed the sans serif lettering of the name hand cut in a somewhat erratic way; creating an unintentional novelty type design that seemed perfect for a digital version.

This was the inspiration for Erratic Stencil JNL, which is available in both regular and oblique versions.
