Generic Squared

The April 3, 1937 issue of Boxoffice Magazine had its page headers hand lettered in a squared san serif type design with rounded corners.

Reminiscent of early 1900s sign painter alphabets, the simplicity of the type design does not detract from its legibility and functionality.

Digitally redrawn as Generic Squared JNL, it is available in both regular and oblique versions.
