In the August 27, 1921 issue of the trade magazine Motion Picture News was an ad promoting the silent film version of "The Three Musketeers".

The name of screen star Douglas Fairbanks was hand lettered in a thin, early Art Deco sans serif style with a clean, easy-to-read look.
