An ad in the April 30, 1936 issue of Motion Picture Daily for Columbia Pictures contained ultra bold sans serif hand lettering with 'highlight' lines added.

The letterforms feature an Art Deco style which is squared in shape with rounded corners. This strong design has an attention-getting look that is perfect for headlines that will make people take notice.
