Within the pages of a vintage Econasign catalog booklet from the UK were some sample characters from one of the many templates shopkeepers, schools and other organizations would use to make their own signs and posters.

The lettering style is a condensed derivation of Futura Black, a stencil-themed typeface found just about everywhere duting the Art Deco era and beyond.

This served as the model for Vintage Moderne JNL, which is available in both regular and oblique versions.
